A linear amplifier built with integrated circuits and designed to meet spectroscopic demands is presented. The amplier has differential input and two independent outputs for unipolar and bipolar pulses, respectively. In addition to the outline of the principles of operation, a detailed mathematical analysis of the pulse shaping circuits of the amplifier is given. (auth)
