OSTI ID:4351329
Continued study of natural-uranium-fueled, heavy-watermoderated power reactors has led to a preferred deslgn. The reactor is of the pressure-vessel variety, is fueled with metallic tubes, is cooled with heavy water, and produces 100 Mwe. The future potential, basic physics data, engineering design problems, metallurgical developments, and estimates of the costs for this currently preferred type and alternative designs of D/sub 2/O-cooled-andmoderated reactors are discussed. (For preceding period see DP-265.) (auth)
