Rates and kinetic hydrogen isotope effects for the ionization of phenylnitromethane

The general-base catalyzed ionization of phenylnitromethane is subject to large primary kinetic hydrogen isotope effects; these effects, their activation parameters, and the Bronsted catalysis coefficient for the reaction are used to discuss possible transition-state structures. (auth)
