The hardness and microstructure of U--Ti alloys may be varied over wide ranges by suitable heat treatment. Quench-temper or isothermal treatments were particularly effective. The over-all response to heat treatment was dependent upon the phases present during solution treatment. Results are interpreted in terms of the phase diagram. (auth)
