ELASTIC SCATTERING OF 40-Mev PROTONS BY DEUTERONS

Measurements of the differential cross section for elastic elastic scattering of 40-Mev protons by deuterons over the range of proton laboratory angles from 4 deg to 164 deg are reported. The results for angles greater than 90 deg were obtained by observing the recoil deuterons emitted in the forward direction. The cross section exhibits a sharp minimum at 7 deg and a broad minimum at approaimately 110 deg . (auth)
