Energy conservation is being practiced in petrochemical industries and teams have been established to plan the programs and projects. Dow Chemical, Du Pont, American Cyanamid, BASF Wyandotte, Union Carbide, Exxon Chemical, and Goodyear are companies reporting energy-reduction programs in power generation, process changes, steam savings, using wastes, waste stream sales, furnace and flue gas savings.
