Calorimetric methods for the investigation and measurement of ionizing radiation are discussed. The general principles of the methods, the different types of calorimetric installations, and methodic questions connected with their use are examined. Questions of the use of calorimetric methods for the measurement of the absolute activity of radioactive preparations and determination of the spectrometric characteristics and half lives of radioactive isotopes are discussed in detail.
