THIOCYANATE SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC DETERMINATION OF TECHNETIUM

Technetium(VII), when carefully reduced in presence of thiocyanate in an acid medium, forms a red complex with a maximum absorbance at 513 m mu and a molar absorbance index of 52,200 plus or minus 500 at the maximum. A yellow thiocyanate complex also forms with a lower valence state of technetium. (auth)
