Thermodynamic properties of liquid indium-cadmium alloys

Journal Article · · Journal of the Less-Common Metals
The partial and integral free energies of formation of liquid alloys in the system In-Cd were determined at 625 deg K by vaporpressure techniques. From these results, and from published enthalpies of mixing, the associated entropy changes were calculated. The excess entropy, DELTA Sxs, was found to be positive over the entire compositional range with a maximum value of 0.3 eu at Xcd = 0.7.
