ASSOCIATED PHOTOPRODUCTION OF K AND $lambda$ PARTICLES AND POSSIBLE "UP- DOWN" ASYMMETRY IN THE $lambda$ DECAY

Journal Article · · Physical Review (U.S.) Superseded in part by Phys. Rev. A, Phys. Rev. B: Solid State, Phys. Rev. C, and Phys. Rev. D
The possibility of detecting parity nonconservation in the decay of LAMBDA particles produced by the reaction gamma + p yields - LAMBDA deg + K+ is discussed. The photoproduction matrix is studied from a phenomenological point of view, and the conditions essential for the detection of an up-down'' asymmetry are examined. (auth)
