Production of 30-fs pulses tunable throughout the visible spectral region by a new technique in optical parametric amplification
- Center for Ultrafast Optical Science, University of Michigan, 2200 Bonisteel Boulevard, Ann Arbor, Michigan 48108-2099 (United States)
A multipass optical parametric amplifier is pumped by a 250-kHz microjoule-level Ti:sapphire regenerative amplifier system. Tuning each pass of the amplifier to provide gain for slightly different spectral regions of a white-light continuum source produces broadband pulses that may be compressed to less than 30 fs. {copyright} {ital 1996 Optical Society of America.}
