The temperature of the Ta recrystallization point decreases with the increase of deformation from 1300 to 1200 deg (with 2.6% deformation the recrystallization begins at 1300 deg , with 10 to 34% at 1275 deg , with 50 to 68% at 1250 deg , and with 84% and more at 1200 deg ). The optimum annealing conditions producing a fine-grain, polyhedral Ta of high mechanical quality were found at temperatures of 1300 to 1400 deg . (R.V.J.)
