Explicit solution of the statistical bootstrap model via Laplace transforms

A compact analytic treatment of the statistical bootstrap model is presented, using the standard techniques of statistical mechanics. Nahm's results on the asymptotic level density are recapitulated. Montvay's derivation of the symptotic moments of the multiplicity distribution of decay products is generalized to the ease of an arbitrary input spectrum. Explicit formula are given for thc moments of the quamtum-number distributions among high-mass resonances, including the spin distribution. Finally, thc n-particle correlation functions among the momenta of decay products are investigated. (auth)
