Observations of the H66$alpha$ recombination line

Observations of the H alpha recombination line in W3A, Orion A, Orion B. M17, W49, and W51 show that the line intensities are higher than is expected from present non-LTE theory. This may be accounted for by an increase in the density and emission measure of these H II regions. (auth)
