A method for impregnating porous graphite with UO/sub 3/ using uranyl nitrate hexahydrate is described. The theoretical amount of possible impregmation based on graphite of 25% porosity and apparent density 1.67 using uranyl nitrate hexahydrate, uranium carbide, and uranium metal is tabulated. The analytical method employed for the determination of uranium in graphite is outlined. (L.T.W.)
