Standard specification for Zr and Zr alloy forgings and extrusions for nuclear application

The forgings shall include all shapes that have been formed with a hammer or a press while extrusions shall include all shapes formed by forcing material through a die, excluding tubing which is covered by ASTM Speciftcation B 353 which covers seamless and welded tubing for nuclear applications. Three grades, designated as reactor-grade zirconium R-1 and zirconium-tin alloys RA-1 and RA-2, are described. Requirements for chemical composition, mechanical properties, testing, and inspection are included. (JRD)
