PEAK TO ASYMPTOTIC FLUX RATIOS FOR SLAB GEOMETRY

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4340382
An approximate method is presented for estimating the magnitude of flux peaks in the water holes which remain after withdrawal of control rods. An infinite homogeneous reacthr with a slot, of width 2a and filled with pure H/sub 2/O, cut through it, is assumed as a model. Differential equations are given for finding the fluxes. Peak to asymptotic flux ratios were computed as a function of gap width for various representative values. Data for H/sub 2/O were taken at 537 deg F. Besults of computations are presented. (M.H.R.)
