Research during Jan. to July 1981 related to the underground disposal of radioactive wastes from the Hanford Atomic Products Operation is described. Data from monitoring ground water in the 200 West Area is presented and compared with precious gross beta-activity measurements. Progress is reported on: waste tank leak detection; treatment of condensation wastes; Pu-removal from 234-5 Building waste; elution of Cs from beds of clinoptilolite; disposal of NPR decontamination wastes; fission product release experiments; and use of aluminum beds for decontaminating reactor effluent.
