Measurement and analysis on the interrupting capacity of vacuum interrupter with different contact structures

In this paper, the interrupting capacity and arc voltage characteristic of vacuum interrupter in high voltage with different contact structures are measured. In addition, the design principle and arc extinguishing mechanism of various contacts are presented with thorough analysis. Single-pole with axial magnetic field contact and multi-pole with axial magnetic field contact have more prospect to be used in medium high voltage region domestically.
