Shell model in the lead region

Journal Article · · Phys. Rev., C, v. 8, no. 6, pp. 2313-2331
The structure of the low-lying states in /sup 206/Pb, /sup 210/Pb, sup 210/Po, /sup 208/Bi, l, and /sup 206/Hg has been calculated using a conventional shell-model approach with a central Gaussian-shaped interaction plus P/sub 2/ and P/sub 3/ multipole interactions where the P/sub 2/ and P/sub 3/ strengths we re varied for each nucleus. The results are compared with the experimental data and other calculations. The agreements between the experimental energies and spectroscopic factor and the calculations are in general good. The agreements between the experimental and calculated E2 and M1 rates in /sup 206/Pb and /sup 210/Po are also fairly good. (auth)
