Elimination of $sup 90$Sr and $sup 137$Cs in sheep milk (in Bulgarian)
From 2nd national conference on uses of radioisotopes and ionizing radiation in biology and agriculture; Sofia, Bulgaria (28 Nov 1972). Investigations were carried out by means of balance experiments with sheep on the elimination of /sup 90/Sr and /sup 137/Cs with the milk, feces and urine after feeding the animals with naturally contaminated hay. It was ascertained that the radioactive equilibrium in the organism occurs on the sixth day from the beginning of the feeding with contaminated hay. In the total amount of milk are eliminated 1.75% of /sup 90/Sr and in 1 liter, 0.99% on an average per day as the discrimination factor milk-fodder is 0.16 in sheep. In the feces are eliminated on an average 84.20% and in the urine 3.5% of /sup 90/Sr. In the total milk yield are eliminated 5.05% on an average per day of the amount of /sup 137/Cs assimilated from the fodder and 2.79% in 1 liter of milk. With the feces are eliminnted 56.10% and with the urine, 63%. (auth)
