The non-destruction neutron activation analysis was applied to determine trace impurities in dtamonds. A high-resolution Ge(Li) detector was used. The presence of 40 elements in natural diamonds is shown. Quantitative results are given for 13 elements in 25 representative diamond samples of the same origin. A relation is established between the chemistry of the inclusions and the color of the diamonds on one side and the element traces found on the other. (tr-auth)
