Title: Investigation of the influence of microadditions of nickel on the mechanical properties of molybdenum and its carbon alloys (in Russian)

Journal Article · · Probl. Prochnosti, v. 5, pp. 51-55

The strength and ductility of pure molybdenum and of Mo-Ni and Mo-Ni--C alloys are studied as a function of the temperature to gain insight into the action of nickel in molybdenum solid solutions at temperatures corresponding to strain aging. It is found that molybdenum alloys containing 0.01 to 0.06 wt% Ni are susceptible to dynamic aging in the range between 700 and 800 deg C. This is associated with an increase in the carbon concentration in the molybdenum solid solution. High-temperature annealing (above 1400 deg C) leads to decomposition of the carbon solid solution in molybdenum alloyed with nickel. (IAA)
