Resonance excitation of atomic levels in a strong electromagnetic field (in Russian)

The interaction between a classicsl electromagnetic field of arbitrary intensity and a two-level atom is considered by a method which is mathematically equivalent to the quasiclassical approach to the problem of reflection at energies exceeding the barrier energy. It is assumed that the external field frequency is small compared with the distance between the atomic levels. The resonance probability for multiphoton transition in a linear regime is calculated. The Stark effect in a strong field is evaluated. The region of applicability of perturbation theory to the problem under consideration is determined. It is demonstrated that the gauge transformation method, which has been intensively employed in recent years for solution of problems of this type, is in fact invalid. (auth)
