Search for rare K$sup +$ decays. II. K$sup +$ $Yields$ $pi$$sup +$$nu$ anti $nu$

In a counter experiment at the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory Bevatron we have searched for the process K+ yields pi /sup +/vv in the kinetic energy interval 60 < T/sub pi / < 105 M1V and hav1 found no examples of this decay mode. Combining our data with these of Klems, Hildebrand, and Stiening for the interval 117 < T/sub pi /, <127 MeV, we obtain the limit GAMMA (K+ yields pi /sup +/ vv) < 5.6 x 10/sup -7/ GAMMA (K/sup +/ yields all), asssu ming a (vector) pion spectrum like that for K+ yields pi /sup o/e/sup +/ nu . Limits are presented f or other assumed spectra. (auth)
