HALL EFFECT MEASUREMENTS ON SOME ALKALI EARTH TITANATES. Technical Note No. 11

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4334600
Measurements of the Hall effect on sintered samples of Mg/sub 2/TiO/sub 4/, MgTiO/sub 3/, MgTi/sub 2/O/sub 5/, CaTiO/sub 3/, SrTiO/s ub 3/, and BaTiO/sub 3/ were made. Mobility and concentration of electrons were determined and compared with data obtained from resistivity measurements. Approximate values of the electron mobility in cm/sup 2//v sec as derived from the Hall effect data were as follows: 0.3 for CaTiO/sub 3/; 3.0 for SrTiO/sub 3/; 0.1 for BaTiO/sub 3/. The values for the magnesium titanates are still lower, between 0.01 and 0.1. The equipment used is briefly described. (auth)
