A study was made of the mechanical and corrosion properties of welded joints of the alloys AK1 (Ti + 2.5% V), AK2 (Ti + 2.5% V + 3% Al) and AK3(Ti + 5% Zr + 2% Al), containing 0.25 to 0.35% U. Rolled specimens 6 mm thick were studied. The plates were welded by an automatic single-pass argon-arc welding machine using infusable tungsten electrodes. It is shown that the strength, ductility, and corrosion resistance of the welded joints are quite close to the figures for the base metal. (JPRS)
