Unitarity constraints for four- and six-point functions

Journal Article · · Nucl. Phys., B, v. B69, no. 2, pp. 372-380

The unitarity sum-rules, which relate the four- and sixpoint functions in the nonforward directions are analyzed in terms of partial-wave amplitudes. Two applications of the unitarity sum rules are discussed. First, bounds on the one particle inclusive cross sections are derived, in terms of the absorptive part of the four point function. Then the unitarity sum rules are evalunted in a pole approximation for the six-point function and it is found that the trilinear coupling of a scalar particle with mass mu has to vanish at least quadratically for mu yields O, if the diffraction peak does not shrink.
