Inelastic electron scattering from $sup 20$ $sup 22$Ne

The scattering of electrons from the low lying excited states of /sup 20/ Ne and /sup 22/Ne was studied in the momentum transfer range from 0.41 fm/suip -1/ to 1.04 fm/sup -1/. Over a limited range of momentum transfer the study of /sup 20/Ne was extended to excited states up to 8 MeV. A phase shift code was used to extract the ground state transition probabilities of the states observed. The model dependence of the results is investigated. The experimental results were compared with the predictions of the Nilsson and the alpha-particle model. (auth)
