Ultrasound transducers capable of retaining their piezoelectric properties at high temperatures are used in displacement measuring devices for liquid sodium-cooled reactors. A piezoelectric ultrasound transducer in which monocrystalline piezoelectric pellets are fixed by their active faces to a common support is described. These pellets are regularly distributed in at least one circle centered about the axis of the device and located in a plane perpendicular to this axis. The pellets are electrically connected in parallel in such a method as to ensure that the sound waves emified by them are in phase. (FR)
