GAMMA-RAY INSENSITIVE EMULSIONS. Quarterly Report No. 8 for January 1, 1958-March 31, 1958

Work on the possibility of recovering gammairradiated film for a subsequent light exposure was continued. This work covered the determination of the speed loss encountered as a function of the internal image density. Further experiments were carried out with an emulsion having a high-intensity reciprocity failure, in the hope that such an emulsion would be advantageous for obtaining a favorable light to gammaspeed ratio. This expectation was realized. The contrast loss experienced in a reversal image after uniform gamma-irradiation can be recovered considerably by subsequent high-contrast printing on autopositive film.
