Aspects related to the concepts of momentum and energy are examined, giving attention to the transport of energy and momentum, the concept of the particle, and the measurement of momentum and energy. Collision processes are discussed together with the characteristics of fields and the angular momentum. Subjects considered in connection with the theory of relativity include reference systems and geometry, Newton's absolute space and time, inertial systems and the principle of relativity, noninertial reference systems, the relativity of time, gravitational fields producing a curvature of the space-time universe, and the connection between curvature and the distribution of energy and momentum in the universe. Newton's gravitational theory is discussed together with Einstein's theory of gravitation, gravitational waves, and cosmological questions. (IAA)
