Decay of fireballs in the statistical bootstrap model

It is shown that in the statistical bootstrap model the probability of a fireball decay into a given channel does not only depend on the volume of the corresponding phase space but also on the velocity of the decay products. Taking this into account a new integral equation is derived for the decay chain, which is used to determine the mean number of heavy hadrons emitted in the decay chain of a fireball with large mass.
