Changes in thyrotropic function of the hypophysis and functional condition of the adrenal cortex in patients suffering from thyrotoxicosis before radioiodine treatment and also at immediate (6 to 12 months) and remote (10 to 11 years) periods after radioiodine therapy are described. On the basis of dynamic study of the funnctions in patients with thyrotoxicosis it is suggested that the thyrotropic hormone of the hypophysis was of preponderant significance in the pathogenesis of thyrotoxicosis.
