Respiration in x-radiation-induced mutant strains of lactic acid bacteria (in Russian)

Journal Article · · Biol. Zh. Arm., v. 26, no. 7, pp. 44-47
OSTI ID:4326231
Respiration was studied in some types of lactic acid bacteria and their x-ray-induced mutant furms. The data indicated that strains that do not use atmospheric oxygen give mutant forms that also do not have this property, and vice versa. With regard to changes in the intensity of absorption of oxygen by some x-rayinduced mutant strains whose initial cultures used atmospheric oxygen, these variations in the overwhelming majority of cases were insignificant and were not constant.
