Title: Status of the SNAP-50/SPUR reactor fuels parametric studies. Part II. 2- MW, 8-MW, 10,000-hour, and 20,000-hour reactor designs

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4326107

Declassified 6 Sep 1973. The purpose of the reactor fuel parametric studies presented is to provide guidance in establishing alternate fuel candidates for the first generation reactor, Reference Design No. 4 (this reactor is being designed with 0.95 dense UC/UN fuel for 1.0 percent burnup at 2300 deg F maximum fuel temperature), look at potential improvement in the SNAP-50 reactor through use of advanced fuels which might be considered for second generation use, and dctermine required changes in the Reference 4 reactor to extend the design lifetime from 10,000 to 20,000 hours. 6 references.
