The feasibility of slip castiag UO/sub 2/ was investigated. This method consists of suspension of UO/sub 2/ particles in Plaster-of-Paris molds, and removal of the water through the mold surfaces leaving a casting of UO/sub 2/. This method has the advantage of low tooling costs and allowing for the production of a variety of shapes. Slipcasted UO/sub 2/ crucibles and rods were sintered to about 85% of the theoretical density. (J.R.D.)
