A RAPID POLAROGRAPHIC PROCEDURE FOR THE ESTIMATION OF URANIUM IN ITS ORES

The use of organic salts as supporting electrolytes in the polarographic assay of uranium in its ores has been investigated. It is suggested that for niobotantalates (non-phosphatic ores) aanmonium lactate may be employed and for monazite, dilute sulfuric acid. The uranium contents of a number of uranium- containing minerals, viz. samarskite, allanite and monazite, have been determined by this procedure. (auth)
