The excited levels of Dy/sup 161/ following the beta desintegration of Tb/sup 161/ have been studied. Three photons have been found of 25.5 to 49 and 74.5 kev, the latter being the cross over of the cascade formed by the first two: 49 kev, 25.5 kev. Two excited levels at 25.5 kev and 74.5 kev are so defined. The pcriods of these two levels have been measured: T/sub 1/2/ 10/sup -9/ sec. The two photons of 25.5 and 74.5 have been found to be E1 ( + M2). The gamma transition of 25.5 kev is forbidden by a factor of about 10/sup 4/ compared to the singleproton estimate of Weisskopf. A level scheme is given. (auth)
