The radiation grafting of vinyl fluoride to powdered polyvinyl chloride from the vapor phase is discussed. The grafting was carried out at dose outputs of gamma radiation of 8, 18, and 70 r/ sec The quantity of grafted polyvinyl chloride increases with the increase of the duration of the irradiation, which is explained by the continuous course of the grafting process with time, and with increase of the dose output; which is explained by the acceleration of the initiation. Thermochemical curves showed that the initial powdered polyvinyl chloride has a lower fluidity temperature than the grafted copolymer and the irradiated polyvinyl chloride. (JSR)
