Solvent purification system for the fluorocarbon absorption system

Technical Report ·
DOI:https://doi.org/10.2172/4319665· OSTI ID:4319665
A solvent purification system consisting of a distillation column with reboiler and condenser auxiliaries is described. The solvent purification system involves the application of the selective absorption process used for krypton- xenon removal to off-gas decontamination in a liquid metal fast breeder reactor fuels reprocessing system. By adding a solvent purification step to the fluorocarbon absorption system, the process can become a recovery step for impurities such as iodine and nitrogen dioxide that collect in the recirculating system.
