A UBV photometrtc investigation of the Southern Globular Cluster NGC 4372 was carried out using the 1 m telescope of Cerro La Silla (ESO) for the photoelectric work, and the 1.5 m telescope of Cerro Tololo (AURA) together with the 1 m telescope of Cerro Las Campanas (CARSO), for the photographic work. Fourteen stars were observed photoelectrically with a limiting apparent magnitude V = 15.88 m. Using this sequence 186 stars were measured photographically. The derived apparent distance modulus is (m-M)/sub app/ = 15.1 m; the reddening E(B-V = 0.37 m. The true distance modulus is (m-M)/sub o/ = 13.99 m. The distance is 6.28 kpc from the sun. 1.09 kpc from the galactic plane and 8.69 kpc from the galactic center. The giant branch rises 3.1 m above the horizontal branch at (B- V)/sub o/ = 1.4 m, characteristic of a metal poor object. (auth)
