The experimentally determined heat /sub 3/reaction, 1/2Hg//sub 2/Br/sub 2/(s)(s) + TiBr/sub 3/(s) = TiBr/sub 4/(g) + Hg(l), DELTA H/sub kcal is combined with existing data for TiBr/sub 4/, Hg, and Hg//sub 2/Br/sub 2/ to obtain for the heat of information and standard entropy of TiBr/sub 3/, DELTA H deg /sub f298.2/ = -l30.6 plus or minus l.2 kcal/mole and S deg /sub 298.2/ = 43.4 plus or minus 1.6 e.u.
