The velocity field in a viscous electrically conducting liquid between two infinite parallel planes was theoretically studied for the case when one of the planes is stationary and the other impressed with a harmonic motion. When a uniform magnetic field is applied perpendicular to the planes, induced currents appear which modify the velocity field obtained in classical hydrodynamics. In this study, the mean velocity of the induced currents is assumed to have a nonzero value determined by the boundary conditions (or electrical origin). (FR)
