The exploration and production of oil in the North Sea continue and the discoveries of oil already cvaluated at the end of 1973 were expected to produce 75 million tons of crude annually by ally by 1985. These evaluations are dependent upon geological conditions, on development costs, and market needs and are subject to change. The economics and legal aspects of these oil fields are discussed. The activities of all the big oil companies in the North Sea flelds are given. The weather halted pipeline work in the winter of 1973. (MCW)
