FISSION STUDIES OF ELEMENTS LIGHTER THAN THORIUM

The fission cross sections of Au/sup 197/, Pb/sup 204/, Pb/sup 206/, Pb/ sup 2 and Pb/sup 208/ for alpha particles were measured as a function of the formation of Y/sup 93/. The yield-mass distributions of Bi/sup 209/ fissioned by 22-Mev deuterons and Ra/sup 226/ fissioned by 23.5- and 43-Mev alpha particles, 11-Mev protons, and 22-Mev deuterons have been obtained.
