Absolute parametric instability of an inhomogeneous plasma (in Russian)

A plasma subjected to the action of an intense pumping verve is unstable with respect to buildup of plasma high-frequency electron waves (plasmons) due to decay of the pumping wave into two plasmons. The effect of spatial inhomogeneity of the plasma on such parametric instability is studied. It is shown that allowance for spatial inhomogeneity of the plasma leads to two effects, firstly to an appreciable increase of the threshold for decay of the pumping wave into two high frequency electron waves and secondly, to trapping in the plasma of these plasma waves which grow with time. The trapping corresponds to absolute instability. (auth)
