New thermoluminescent dosimeters for x-ray machine surveys and environmental monitoring

Conference ·
OSTI ID:4313480
In health physics in the healing ants. Two new thermoluminescent radiation dosimeters were developed that show promise of accurate low-level measurements for radiation protection surveys and personnel and environmental monitoring. Other characteristics include rugged construction, ease of handling, availability in lithium fluoride (for maximum tissue equivalent enengy response) or calcium fluoride: Dy (for maximum sensitivity), and commercial availability. The results of characterization studies, which included reproducibility, response versus photon energy, sensibility (lowest deulectable dose), and relative sensitivity are reported. (CH)
