An interview is recorded with Sen. Lloyd Bentsen of Texas after he announced that he would introduce legislation in the U. S. Senate to increase the government's share of revenues from production of gas and oil on federal lands, including offshore acreage, and eliminate the percentage depletion allowance on U. S. company operations outside North America. The proposal is essentially a production Bharing contract and he is queried about the advantages and disadvantages of the measure. Sen. Bentsen is opposed to the creation of a government gas and oil company. (MCW)
