Observed seismic data Rio Blanco Event

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4311594
BS>The Rio Blanco Event, a 30 Kt underground nuclear explosion detonated on 17 May 1973 in Colorado, was a government-industry natural gas stimulation experiment. Ground motion from the event was measured at 36 locations. Tabulated data are presented on the peak amplitudes, acceleration, velocity, and displacements due to the ground motion, sunface geologic medium at the recording sites, arrival times, and pseudo-relative velocity spectra ( PSRV) for each component of the ground motion at each station. Finally, pre-event predicted peak resultant vector amplitudes of acceleration, velocity, and displacement are compared with the Rio Blanco observed values and showed good agreement. (LCL)
